Hyderabad to Host India’s Largest Stem Cell Manufacturing Lab by US-based Stem Cures
On Wednesday, the Telangana government released an official statement announcing that US-based StemCures will be establishing a laboratory in the state geared towards stem cell therapy. The project has a projected investment of $54 million and could create up to 150 jobs in two phases. If successful, it would be India’s largest stem cell manufacturing plant.
Recently, Dr Sairam Atluri, the Founder of StemCures, had the opportunity to meet with Telangana IT and Industries Minister K T Rama Rao in Boston, United States. After the meeting, an announcement was made on behalf of the Minister and the Founder of StemCures.
The proposed plant seeks to leverage cutting-edge technology and knowledge from the US to produce the finest and most cost-effective stem cell remedies for a range of serious medical problems, according to the statement.
While welcoming this investment, Rama Rao stated, “I am delighted to welcome StemCures to Hyderabad. Stem cell therapy is a promising new treatment for a variety of conditions, and I am confident that StemCures will provide high-quality care to patients in India. I look forward to working with the clinic to make stem cell therapy more accessible to patients in India.”
“It is so heartening to see Hyderabad, my hometown, transforming into a vibrant hub for medical innovations. Setting up an R&D facility was seamless and now we are looking forward to expanding with the manufacturing plant. I sincerely thank Minister K T Rama Rao along with his team for their expediency and encouragement,” Dr Atluri said.
At present, Stemcures is in the process of finalizing its research and development of stem cell lines at Aspire Bionest, located at the University of Hyderabad and is preparing to initiate its Phase-1 manufacturing laboratory.
StemCures is a leading medical clinic located in the state of Ohio that is dedicated to providing treatments that include stem cell therapy. This clinic ensures that all of its procedures meet and exceed the standards set forth by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) by using only the highest quality stem cells in the therapies it provides.
