Diminution in visual acuity
A 64-year-old male patient, with a history of progressive diminution of vision for the past 35 years. Started in both eyes simultaneously. He is able to see only very close to his eyes for the past 7 years. He has consulted multiple ophthalmic surgeons for the same. Medical management / conservative treatment is going on in Switzerland. He underwent stem cell treatment in India in 2023. The patient, his friends, and their daughters wish to undergo stem cell therapy for his problem.
Stem cell therapy
Stem cells were infused through Retrobulbar, Intravenous, and Intramuscular routes.
The patient was clinically examined and thoroughly investigated and informed written consent taken. He was taken to OT for a stem cell procedure. The patient was given I/v fluid and other supportive medication during the hospital stay. Dietary Consultation, Occupational therapy & amp; Psychologist Consultation were during the course of stay in the hospital. Post-procedure was uneventful (no headache, vomiting, or ocular pain ). At the time of discharge, he is clinically stable.
