CHIEF COMPLAINT:
The patient is a known case of retinitis pigmentosa since his childhood age, but it has progressed a lot since after his 30-year age. He has c/o blur & hazy vision in both eyes esp. central vision. During nighttime, dark adaptation was difficult. Dimness of peripheral vision is also affected as of now.
PRESENTING ILLNESS:
A 58-year-old male presented with a history of difficulties of vision in both eyes since childhood. But initially, his vision in both eyes was normal with good day vision. Later on after 30 years of age, he developed difficulties in both eyes during night light or during dark light. He has got dimness of vision in both eyes. His central vision is affected & peripheral vision is also affected. The patient’s overall health is good but his eyesight is not so good.
PAST MEDICAL HISTORY:
He has h/o BCL Leukemia and he has been taken chemotherapy Rx for the same with a better prognosis. As on date. he is free from BCL (PET scan report 15/09/2023).
FAMILY HISTORY:
h/o vision loss in his father in his old age in family members.
PLAN OF ACTION:
Bilateral Retro Bulbar injection of Stem Cell & Exosome Growth Proteins GFC.
Ophthalmic antibiotics eye drops
Injection MVI & Injection Vit C
OPERATION UNDERTAKEN/PROCEDURE:
1. Bilateral Retro bulbar injection of Stem Cell & Exosome growth proteins (50µgm) given in both eye under LA by an Ophthalmologist with NO any adverse event.
2. Ophthalmic antibiotics eye drops
IN THE COURSE OF HOSPITAL AND COMPLICATION IF ANY:
The patient was clinically examined and thoroughly investigated, the physician’s opinion taken, and informed written consent taken. After examination, her GC was stable and he was afebrile.
On day 1st, he was given a Retro Bulbar injection of Stem Cell & Exosome growth proteins (50µgm) in both eyes by an Ophthalmologist. Post-procedure was uneventful (no headache or vomiting). Slight pain at the injection site was present, esp. the left eye. for which eye drops have been administered on an every 4 hrs basis.
On day 2nd. He was given Injections of MVI & Vit C via the IV route. Post-procedure was uneventful. In the evening, later on, the Patient was stable & well oriented.
